Website Updating
Tip #6
A web publication of Content That Counts

Are you dated or updated?

Your website is a great place to let people know when events are planned. If you give classes or seminars, make sure to update the calendar. Someone coming to your website for information on upcoming classes will be disappointed if your information is outdated.

Keeping your content updated can be a challenge. Try making use of what you're already doing by recycling information. If you have a special event, make sure to remove the announcement when the event is passed, then tell about the event's success. You'll have reason to update your content and your event goers will have reason to visit.

Website visitors do not expect small organizations to update their sites daily or even weekly. For most small organizations quarterly updates for calendars and schedules works well but plan for an extra update when you have an event.

Dated information makes you entire site look stale. Take advantage of your website as a marketing tool. Keep it updated so people will have a reason to come back.
