| Website Updating | |||||
| Tip #1 | |||||
| A web publication of Content That Counts | |||||
| Look at your website | |||||
| It may seem obvious, but when was the last time you looked at your website? I mean really looked at it like a prospect or customer visiting for the first time or someone who doesn't know you or your organization.
All too often websites are out of date. Think about how annoying it is, when you visit a website that has an old calendar of events or broken links. Perhaps you recently learned about a new service or product. To learn more you go to the company's website. But, you find nothing new on the site. What a disappointment! If you haven't updated your website lately, you may have disappointed visitors as well. The hardest part about keeping a website updated is to know what needs to be done. Look at your website and ask yourself these questions:
But wait, you're not done just yet. To keep your site updated, set a date for your next review. The timing is up to you. It depends on your type of business and the purpose of your website. Updates should coincide with schedules, announcements or calendars. Small businesses, that make few changes to their products and services, may only need to review their sites semi-annually. But, you must set the schedule for reviewing your website, if you want to keep it current. If there's no one in your organization to assist you in monitoring or updating your website or if you're too busy, call us or send an e-mail. We specialize in website updating -- housekeeping, redecorating and renovating -- and we build affordable websites too. | |||||
